After being hospitalised twice for severe cholecystitis I knew that I would need to have my gallbladder removed. I did a lot of research to find the best surgeon in my area and decided to consult Mr De' Liguori Carino. I had two consultations with him and a MRI scan. I found him to be very professional, respectful and reassuring. Surgery was scheduled quickly and I was able to choose the most convenient time and place for me. The operation was a laparoscopic cholecystectomy and it went very smoothly, despite my gallbladder being very inflamed. Mr De' Liguori came to see me before I went down to theatre and again after the operation when he was able to reassure me that all went well. I am now 5 weeks post op and so impressed by how quickly I recovered. My scars are fully healed and virtually invisible. I am eating normally and doing all my normal activities including walking up hills in the Lake District where I live. I am sure that this is due to the skill and expertise of my surgeon and I am so glad I found him! Due to Covid 19 a follow up appointment was impossible but Mr De' Liguori telephoned me instead and answered any questions I had. I know that cholecystectomy is a fairly routine operation compared to most of the surgery that Mr De'Liguori Carino carries out but he clearly explained the potential risks so that I was fully informed, and I felt that he completely understood that for me this was a very challenging experience. I recommend him wholeheartedly to any person who is unfortunate to be suffering from gallbladder disease. In my opinion he is an excellent surgeon and very kind and compassionate. I couldn't have wished for better care.

Mr De' Liguori is the most wonderful man, he is not only friendly and caring but a fantastic Dr and Surgeon. He was there for us when we had exhausted the care at the hospital where my Dad was first admitted to. He had been in hospital for 4 months and continued to deteriorate, we were told they had done everything they could and we had to wait until he was well enough for the operation to remove his pancreatic tumour. We found Mr De' Liguori online and the rest is history, I met him with my aunty at his office to explain the situation with Dad and he accepted him to come under his care immediately. Dad was transferred the next day, within 10 days he was well enough to leave hospital for the first time in 4.5 months! He had become very weak over these months and Mr D wanted him to eat and get as fit as possible for the surgery. We hit a few more bumps in the road and Dad needed 6 months of Chemo but we eventually got back to where we needed to be and Mr D operated in January 2020. The surgery was more difficult than anticipated but Mr D worked tirelessly to make it a huge success. Dad is now recovering well and without Mr D I fear that he would never of made it out of hospital. He has helped my family tremendously, has been supportive throughout and taken so much time to explain the situation throughout. He has given Dad some much needed words of encouragement and we can't thank him enough for everything he has done. Anyone who needs a specialist in this area please seek out Mr D, we felt like we would never get to this point sometimes but when we met Mr D that all changed.

In November 2018 I was diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer and was admitted into Blackburn hospital the following day with my bilirubin at 734 (this should be between 0 - 21) I was a patient in the hospital for over 4 months, when I was admitted my weight was almost 16 stone and during this period had dropped to a little over 7 stones, I could hardly lift my head of the pillow, my blood levels hadnt improved much and I was deteriating fast. My family were very anxious and started to look for a solution before it was too late. My daughter and sister had a meeting with Mr De' Liguori at his private practice and explained my situation, he agreed to take me on as a private patient and I was initially moved to Manchester Royal Infirmary. I wasn't in a good way at all by then, however under Mr De' Liguori's care and a number of surgical procedures, my condition improved, my bloods were also improving daily and within 11 days he managed to achieve what Blackburn hospital couldn't and discharged me from hospital. The only potential cure for my condition was an operation called a Whipple Procedure (pancreaticoduodenectomy) which is very complex major surgery. At home I worked hard to get fit enough for the operation and after 3 weeks I was back at Manchester Royal Infirmary taking part in a CPET test (Cardiopulmonary Exercise Testing) this is a compusary fitness test that is performed on a static bicycle to determine if you are fit enough for the operation, this was a success and the final step was to have a PET-CT scan prior to the operation. I saw Mr De' Liguori for a private consultation at the BMI Highfied Hospital 1 week prior to my planned surgery, however the news wasn't good, from the scan it looked as though the cancer had spread to my liver and now an operation was out of the question. I underwent 6 months of intensive chemotheropy at Christies Hospital in Manchester as a private patient and after my final scan, Mr De' Liguori confirmed that there wasn't anything showing untowards on my liver anymore. To be safe he performed a laparoscopy, this was an exploratory operation to confirm that there wasn't any sign of the Cancer spreading anywhere else in my body, this was done at the Alexandra private hospital in Cheadle. Mr De' Liguori confirmed that the operation didn't show any signs of spreading and the Whipple operation was planned for the 1st of February 2020, again at the Alexandra private hospital in Cheadle. I was admitted the day prior to surgery and Mr De' Liguori came to my room the morning of the surgery, he had a good chat with me and reassured me that he would do everything possible to remove all of the tumour. The operation took 11 hours and once in ICU Mr De' Liguori came to see me and said that the operation turned out to be very complicated due to complications, however he was confident that all of the tumour had been removed and was a success. I can't thank Mr De' Liguori enough for what he has done for me and my family, throughout my journey he was always on hand to take my calls anytime of the day or night and ressponded personally to my texts and emails. Without him I definitely wouldn't be here now, I am currently classed as cancer free and if you have a similar condition to me, please arrange an appointment to see him as soon as possible.

Mr Carino operated on me to remove a liver lesion following a diagnosis of stage 4 bowel cancer. Mr Carino listened intently to my treatment history and managed to make me feel a lot more positive about my situation despite the poor prognosis handed to me initially 2 years prior. His care was second to none, picking up on nuances about hobbies and interests and to a degree tailoring his care towards this, for example fully supporting my plans to cross the Alps by mountain bike as and when possible. He also took great care to avoid any additional scars where possible and to tidy up scar tissue from previous surgeries. Whilst this was major surgery, my recovery went smoothly and within 20 days I was able to ride a bike for around 5 miles.
